Arbor Day 2024: The Board of Trustees has proclaimed Arbor Day Week in the Village of Dane. Sunday April 21, 2024 to Saturday April 27, 2024 is the official Arbor Day Week with Friday April 26, 2024 highlighted as Arbor Day! Please see the Resolution below that was adopted on March 4, 2024 at the regular board meeting to proclaim this exciting event. See Arbor Day 2024 The Village Board encourages all residents of Dane to celebrate and honor our earth, nature, and the renewable resource of TREES. The Public Works Department is working hard to plant, maintain, and care for the many trees we have in our community. They are also focused on creating diversity in the tree species we have here in Dane. Diversity of species in trees becomes important when certain tree species are attacked by pests or disease. This year the Arbor Day Foundation has chosen the following as the theme for our celebrations: Arbor Day 2024 is all about ensuring our earth and the trees upon it are happy, healthy, and growing to be as strong as they possibly can be! The Village Board encourages every resident to support efforts to gladden the heart, make all our trees happy, and healthy, and promote the welol-being of this and future generations. You are encouraged to put on your thinking caps and decide how you can celebrate and plant a tree this Arbor Day.

Do not delay in licensing your dog. Owners of unlicensed pets will be issued a ticket by the Village of Dane Police Department. Any unlicensed dog running at large will be picked up by Dane County Animal Control Officer.
If your pet passes away, it is best to contact the Village Clerk’s Office. Your pets information needs to be updated in the dog license system. We appreciate your attention to this matter.
