The Village of Dane contracts with Associated Appraisal for assessment services. If you have questions or concerns about your assessment. The tax bills are mailed to all property owners in the Village of Dane by the third Monday in December as per Wisconsin State Statutes. If you move or change your mailing address you must contact the Village Clerk’s Office and let us know. We can change your mailing address for the tax bill. Please call the Clerk’s Office for assistance.
The first installment is due no later than January 31. If you would like a receipt you must include a self-addressed envelope with proper postage. the village of Dane’s Clerks office has a cut off date for processing payments for Dane County. Payments received in the Clerk’s Office will be forwarded to the Dane County Treasurer’s Office in Madison.
The Village of Dane can accept debit/credit card payments for real estate or personal property tax payments. Log on to allpaid.com and look for PLC Code 4367, if it says Taxes and the Village of Dane you are in the correct place. A user-fee will be added to your total due, you can always cancel your payment before completing the transaction to avoid the extra fee.
Checks are the accepted form of payment and can be mailed to Village Hall, dropped in the Drop Box on the east side of the Village Hall Building, (the parking lot side), or brought to the clerk’s office during business hours. Cash and debit/credit cards will be accepted at the clerk’s office. A $45 fee will be charged on any returned check.
If you want a receipt for your payment, you must bring the entire tax bill with you if you are paying in person, or provide a properly stamped and self address envelope. Receipts are mailed the day the payment is processed.
Second installments and delinquent taxes can only be paid to the Dane County Treasurer.
